What is Form CSR-1: Form CSR-1 being a registration form for getting CSR funding by implementing agencies from the corporates. The Form CSR-1 is termed as Form for “Registration of Entities for undertaking CSR Activities.”
Governing Provisions: Section 135 of Companies Act, 2013 read with Rule 4(1) and (2) of the Companies (Corporate Social Responsibility Policy) Rules, 2014.
Applicability: April 2021 onwards, every entity, covered under sub-rule (1), who intends to undertake any CSR activity, shall register itself with the Central Government by filing the Form CSR-1 electronically with the Registrar.
Eligible Entities:
1. a company established under section 8 of the Act, or a registered public trust or a registered society, registered under section 12A and 80 G of the Income Tax Act, 1961, established by the company, either singly or along with any other company, or
2. a company established under section 8 of the Act or a registered trust or a registered society, established by the Central Government or State Government; or
3. any entity established under an Act of Parliament or a State legislature; or
4. a company established under section 8 of the Act, or a registered public trust or a registered society, registered under section 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961, and having an established track record of at least three years in undertaking similar activities.
Requirements for filing Form CSR-1:
1. Copy of PAN of the entity
2. Copy of Registration Certificate
3. Email ID of entity (to be verified by OTP)
4. Mobile No. of entity (to be verified by OTP)
5. Details of Governing Body of the entity (Directors/ Board of Trustees/ Chairman/ CEO/ Secretary/ Authorized Representatives of the entity
6. DIN of the director; or DIN or PAN of the Trustee or CEO or Chairperson or Chief functionary or authorized representative of the Entity;
7. Digital Signature of Director in case of Section 8 Company, Trustee/ CEO in case of registered public trust/ Chairperson/ CEO/ Secretary in case of Registered Society & Authorized Representative in case of entity established under an Act of Parliament or State Legislature.
8. Form CSR-1is required to be certified by whole time practicing CS/CA/CMA.
Registration Certificate:
After Filing & successfully processing of form CSR-1 on MCA portal, the Registrar will issue an approval letter thereby mentioning a unique CSR registration number and henceforth the entity shall be considered as registered for undertaking CSR activities.
